Barack Obama Says Hillary Clinton Is More Qualified to Be President Than Him (and Bill Clinton) #CAPews

Man, oh man. Barack Obama just came out during the Democratic National Convention and gave one incredible speech that was full of wit, laughs, zingers and mic-drop moments, once again proving that he is a master public speaker.
During the DNC in Philadelphia, Obama opened with some funny remarks about getting older while his wife Michelle Obama hasn't, some heartfelt comments about the pride he has for his two daughters, and some outstanding praise about his choice as the next president, Hillary Clinton.
"You know, nothing truly prepares you for the demands of the oval office. You can read about it, you can study it, but until you've sat at that desk, you don't know what it's like to manage a global crisis or send young people to war," Obama told the crowd. "But Hillary's been in the room. She's been part of those decisions. She knows what's at stake in the decisions our government makes, what's at stake for the working family for the senior citizen or the small business owner, for the soldier, for the veteran. And even in the midst of crisis, she listens to people and she keeps her cool and she treats everybody with respect."
He continued, "And no matter how daunting the odds, no matter how much people try to knock her down, she never, ever quits. That is the Hillary I know. That's the Hillary I've come to admire, and that's why I can say with confidence there has never been a man or a woman, not me, not Bill Clinton, nobody, more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States."
Although Bill was up and cheering at that statement, Obama still felt obliged to say, "I hope you don't mind, bill, but I was just telling the truth, man." LOL!

Earlier in his speech, Obama recalled running against Clinton for the Democratic nomination, and couldn't help but admit that she was tough competition.
"Let me tell you, eight years ago you may remember Hillary and I were rivals for the democratic nomination. We battled for a year and a half. Let me tell you, it was tough because Hillary was tough. I was worn out. She was doing everything I was doing, but just like Ginger Rogers, it was backwards in heels. And every time I thought I might have had the race won, Hillary just came back stronger."
That was part of the reason why Obama decided to add Hillary to his team. "But after it was all over, I asked Hillary to join my team. And she was a little surprised. Some of my staff was surprised. But ultimately she said yes, because she knew that what was at stake was bigger than either of us. And for four years, I had a front row seat to her intelligence, her judgment, and her discipline. I came to realize that her unbelievable work ethic wasn't for praise, it wasn't for attention, she was in this for everyone who needs a champion. I understood that after all these years she has never forgotten just who she's fighting for."
As for Clinton's competition, Donald Trump, Obama told the crowd, "I have to say this. People outside of the United States do not understand what's going on in this election. They really don't. Because they know Hillary, they've seen her work."
He added, "He's just offering slogans. And he's offering fear. He's betting that if he scares enough people, he might score just enough votes to win this election. And that's another bet that Donald Trump will lose. And the reason he'll lose it is, because he's selling the American people short. We're not a fragile people. We're not a frightful people. Our power doesn't come from some self-declared savior promising that he alone can restore order as long as we do things his way. We don't look to be ruled.
"Our power comes from those immortal declarations first put to paper right here in Philadelphia all those years ago. We hold these truths to be be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that we, the people, can form a more perfect union. That's who we are. That's our birth right, the capacity to shape our own destiny."
President Obama concluded with, "I'm ready to pass the baton and do my part as a private citizen so this year in this election, I'm asking you to join me to reject cynicism and reject fear and to summon what is best in us to elect Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States and show the world we still believe in the promise of this great nation. Thank you for this incredible journey. Let's keep it going. God bless you. God bless the United States of America."
AND SURPRISE! Hillary steps out on the stage to say hello to the cheering crowd alongside Obama. No, she didn't say anything. She's saving it all for tomorrow night.
"Tonight was a sad night for the Democratic Party. They offered no solutions for the problems facing America—in fact, they pretended those problems didn't even exist," Trump's campaign released in a statement (via Twitter).`

Bill Clinton Recalls the Moment He Fell in Love With Hillary Clinton During DNC Speech #CAPNews

Bill Clinton's speech during the second day of the Democratic National Convention was history in the making.
Tonight's address marked the tenth time—in consecutive years no less—that Clinton has spoken at a convention.
And while all eyes were on the former president during tonight's festivities at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, the attention was on the Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.

The former president began his almost hour-long speech by recalling the very first time he saw his fellow classmate at Yale Law School.
"In the spring of 1971, I met a girl…The first time I saw her we were, appropriately enough, in a class on political and civil rights. She exuded this sense of strength."

He explained how he was too nervous to introduce himself properly at first, but that it was Hillary who approached him at a later date in the university's library.
According to Bill, Hillary told him that day, "Look, if you're going to keep staring at me, and I'm staring back, we at least outta know each other's names."
"I was so impressed and surprised that would you believe it or not, momentarily I was speechless," he shared as the crowd cheered on.

Bill went on to tell the story of how he proposed to Hillary not once, but two more times before she would finally accept.
"The third time was the charm. I married my best friend. I was still in awe after more than four years of being around her of how strong and smart and loving and caring she was," the former president told the excited audience before concluding on a final message to voters in the upcoming election.
"Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunity. She is still the best darn change maker I have ever known."
Moments later, after Meryl Streep's remarks and Alicia Keys' performance, Hillary appeared via satellite from New York and addressed the crowd.
"We just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet," she proclaimed. "If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say that I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next."

Happy 71st Birthday Helen Mirren – You’re an Inspiration to Women Everywhere! #CAPNews

Few women are as beloved by the Sixty and Me community as Helen Mirren. It’s not just that she is an amazing actress, although she certainly is that. It’s also that she offers a classy, down-to-earth alternative to the over-the-top celebrities that we see on the TV every day.

Today, on July 26th, 2016, as Helen Mirren turns 71, I would like to share a few of the reasons that I appreciate her so much. Then, I’d like to invite you to share your birthday wishes for Helen in the comments section at the end of this article. Here are a few of the reasons that I’m celebrating Helen Mirren’s 71st birthday.
Ok, this is probably stating the obvious, but, Helen Mirren is an amazing actress. In fact, she is one of a handful of actresses to win an Academy Award, Critics’ Choice Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and SAG Award.
Her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 film, The Queen, was nothing short of stunning. It was probably my favorite Helen Mirren film. What was yours?
At age 71, Mirren isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Between now and the end of 2017, she has 3 major film projects scheduled to release including Collateral Beauty, Winchester Mystery House and Fast 8.

She Isn’t Afraid to Have a Little Fun

There are so many stereotypes about getting older – and Helen Mirren breaks them all. Mirren is full of energy, hilariously self-deprecating and dynamic.
One of my favorite examples of Mirren letting her inner child come out to play is the interview on The Tonight Show. She is so cute as she talks about her childhood, while inhaling helium with Jimmy. Have a quick watch of the video and you’ll see what I mean.

Helen Mirren is Down to Earth and Approachable

Many people love looking at pictures of celebrities to find out what they are wearing. Well, Mirren is undoubtedly fashionable, but, I love the following picture of her for a very different reason.
It was shot on the New York subway and it shows her to be a classy, approachable and down-to-earth woman. What do you think?

I don’t know about you, but, it makes me so happy to hear that Helen Mirren publically supports positive aging. She is a stunning example that you can enjoy being stylish, without compromising who you are or buying into “anti-aging” promises.
Dame Mirren made headlines recently when she revealed that for her latest advertising campaign, she asked L’Oreal not to airbrush her pictures. She wanted the images to represent the true her, not someone else’s false ideal.
I could go on for hours about Helen Mirren. She is definitely one of my favorite female celebrities. But, instead, I will simply wish her a very happy 71st birthday and invite you to do the same. I hope that she continues to share her talent, personality and intelligence with us for many years to come!

Japan FY2020 budget deficit to narrow to 5.5 trillion yen - sources #CAPMondayBusinessTip

Japan's Prime Minister and leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Shinzo Abe attends a news conference following a victory in the upper house elections by his ruling coalition, at the LDP headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, July 11, 2016.

Japan's primary budget deficit is expected to be around 5.5 trillion yen ($51.77 billion) in fiscal 2020, improving from a 6.5 trillion yen deficit earlier projected but still missing the goal of a surplus, government sources who have seen the figures said on Monday.
The primary budget deficit is expected to narrow partly because of the sluggish inflation outlook, with lower prices helping suppress government spending, said one of the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The forecast is also based on the assumption economic growth would pick up, the source said.
Japan's government cut its forecasts for consumer prices earlier this month, saying it expected them to rise 1.4 percent for fiscal 2017, well below the 2 percent target the Bank of Japan says will be met during the fiscal year ending in March 2018.
The primary budget, which excludes debt servicing costs and income from bond sales, is a key measure of fiscal health. In June, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delayed a sales tax increase to October 2019 from next April because of growing risks to the economy - a step some economists worry would worsen Japan's fiscal discipline.
