The University of Johannesburg (UJ) congratulated the pupils who excelled in their finance and investment challenge.
The Finance and Investment Management Olympiad is an initiative of UJ’s Finance and Investment Management department, and it focuses of unleashing the potential of pupils from grades 10 to 12 in the field of finance.
This year was the second year the olympiad took place and it was an exciting challenge, stimulating pupils from across the country and finding finance’s best of the best at school level.
The olympiad kicked off on 25 May with the first round which consisted of 2 008 pupils taking part, followed by the second round on 2 August, until finally, the winners in each category were announced at the Johannesburg Country Club in Auckland Park on 19 October.
Monica Singer of Strate, a South Africa Central Securities Depository providing post-trade products and services to companies in the financial market, opened the floor and explained why the company was so excited to be part of the challenge.
